How do you want me?
I ain't got all day
It's a steady situation
I make more money in a week doing this than half your life straight
It's no illusion
It's just sleight of hand
If you watch the cards moving
I'll be nothing but a flash of a life that you lie with in bed
I don't belong here
But oh my god, I watch the sun rise each day
And all that love I thought was retreating
Comes to me with such overwhelming grace
And then my life has meaning
But then comes the shadow
And I stand where I should
And that stranger in my body
Comes alive through the smoke and my ass on this cadillac's hood
I'm not superstitious
But I pray when I go
I turn to fire in his engine
And I rise through the vents in the dash and I burn through his soul
I don't belong here
But oh my god, I watch the sun rise each day
And in my bones I feel something is leaving
Something old that's keeping me in this place
And that's the only thing worth believing
Some may know Farmer from his time under the Monarch Mtn name. Happy to see Western Vinyl has picked up on what a talent this guy is. 'Still No Mother' delivers such a subtle venom, one that works its way into the bloodstream long after the music has ended. Farmer's music impacts in much the same way as that of Damien Jurado or Bill Callahan. The songs seem as if they've been on rotation for many years, like visiting an old friend, instantly familiar and welcoming. Lost Tribe Sound
A collection of twinkling bedroom folk-pop demos from Fahim Rahman that arcs from hushed intimacy to sweeping cinematic emotionality. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 6, 2021
Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12. IGR truly capture what I feel is an authentic sense of a medieval bard at a woodland rill pondering the mysteries of life. Highly recommended. 8.5+/10. Alrihkh
