I don't wanna be free I got a terror inside
I woke up Mary just to see her eyes
Said I had a bad dream that I died a poor man
She spent her whole damn life just carrying him
I drove myself to the auto parts store
Doused a rag in gas and breathed it in
Took my sawed off out, turned the sign on the door
Took all the cash he was carrying
Now the headlights streaking white across my view
I keep screaming "my god, what's happening"
When I get home Mary says "what's happened to you?"
I say "nothing" but my shirt has blood on it
Some may know Farmer from his time under the Monarch Mtn name. Happy to see Western Vinyl has picked up on what a talent this guy is. 'Still No Mother' delivers such a subtle venom, one that works its way into the bloodstream long after the music has ended. Farmer's music impacts in much the same way as that of Damien Jurado or Bill Callahan. The songs seem as if they've been on rotation for many years, like visiting an old friend, instantly familiar and welcoming. Lost Tribe Sound
A collection of twinkling bedroom folk-pop demos from Fahim Rahman that arcs from hushed intimacy to sweeping cinematic emotionality. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 6, 2021
Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12. IGR truly capture what I feel is an authentic sense of a medieval bard at a woodland rill pondering the mysteries of life. Highly recommended. 8.5+/10. Alrihkh
